For over 20 years, the Global Orphan Project has operated a network of support systems in 11 countries to help children whose parents have died. The organization also helps children who are neglected improve their circumstances and transition into adulthood. The Global Orphan Project works through local churches, social workers, and its online portal.
Before children reach the age of majority they learn job skills, financial literacy, and cultivate their spirituality, to prepare for a successful adult life. Children living in Haiti and India enter a Global Orphan Project Transition Academy, where they learn skills like sewing. Graduates from the Transition Academy become eligible to interview with the Global Orphan Project GOEX apparel company, which creates jobs wherever the organization serves.
To teach children and their families about the organization’s faith-based mission, Trace Thurlby wrote Things God Cannot Do, a book illustrated by Rosemarie Adcock, which explains the relationship between Christians and God. The Global Orphan Project published the book in 2022.
